Fare Policies
Our goal is to provide exceptional value to our communities. We try to accomplish this by providing a variety of fares to fit your budget or schedule. The chart below is intended to help you understand the fare options available to you.
- Guests missing a flight may fly stand-by on the next available flight over the same route at no additional charge.
- While Backcountry Aviation does not have partnerships with other airlines, guests affected by major-airline flight delays should contact our reservation team at 855-935-1845. We will do our best to accommodate you on the next available flight.
Weather and Flight Considerations
Your flight may be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather or mechanical issues. We will do our best to inform you of weather cancellations or delays as soon as possible so that you may consider your travel options. Safety of operation is Backcountry’s top priority, and all flights are conducted weather-permitting. Low visibility and high wind conditions are examples of poor weather conditions experienced in the Pacific Northwest that could affect flight operations. Your safety and the safety of our crew is paramount. To that end, each flight is conducted with strict adherence to weather regulations and regulatory policy. Our pilot has absolute and final authority over the flight’s departure. Neither Backcountry nor its representatives assume any responsibility for any loss or liability resulting from cancellations due to weather, mechanical issues or regulatory constraints, scheduling conflicts or any other circumstance.
Weight and Balance
We fly weight limited aircraft and for flight safety, it is vital that we have accurate passenger and baggage weights. While we do not share this information, you will be asked your weight at the time of booking and may be asked to weigh-in before boarding. Passengers in excess of 275 pounds may be subject to additional fees and may be adjusted to another flight if needed for the safety of maintaining the weight and balance of our aircraft.
The aircraft does not contain storage space under the seat or overhead in which to safely stow in-cabin items. Accordingly, most Personal Items must be carried to the aircraft by the Guest and stowed by a Backcountry agent into the designated baggage compartments prior to boarding. For additional baggage related details including liability limits, prohibited items, and accessibility requirements please refer to the Backcountry Aviation contract of carriage.
Since Backcountry Aviation does not have agreements with other airlines, luggage cannot be transferred to other airlines.
Due to limited baggage capacity, we strongly encourage passengers to limit themselves to the baggage allowances specified above.
Restricted Articles
- Federal law prohibits the carriage of hazardous materials aboard aircraft in your luggage or on your person. Many everyday products are considered hazardous under these regulations.
- Categories of items that are generally prohibited include, but are not limited to: flammable substances, explosives, oxidizers, poisons, compressed gases, infectious agents and radioactive materials.
- Examples of specific prohibited articles include: aerosols, spray starch, fireworks, strike-anywhere matches, gasoline, lighter fluid, butane, pesticides, paint, scuba tanks, propane cylinders and loose lithium batteries.
- Passengers violating Federal hazardous materials laws are subject to fines of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.
Disablities and Accomodations
Backcountry Aviation does not discriminate of the basis of disability. We strive to offer our services to everyone but safety is always our chief priority. There are regulations and inherent challenges associated with enplaning and deplaning our aircraft, requiring passengers to be physically able to do so with minimal assistance. However, we do our best to try to accommodate all guests safely. While we are exempt from accessibility requirements, if you have a disability which requires assistance, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you and in the event we are unable, we will contact you with an explanation. Your service dog is free of charge if certification is provided when booking your flight.
Unfit Passengers
At the discretion of a Backcountry Representative or our Pilot, impaired passengers may be denied boarding. This includes passengers who are, or appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, are determined to be unable to perform in-flight emergency procedures such as opening the door and exiting the aircraft, and/or those who exhibit behavior deemed alarming or a threat to the safety of the flight. Note: Marijuana, although legal in Washington State, is illegal under federal law. Backcountry Aviation is subject to Federal regulations and thus marijuana is not permitted on our flights.
Liability
Backcountry Aviation assumes no liability for overweight baggage that is left behind at any location from which your flight originates. Luggage is stored at passengers’ own risk. Backcountry Aviation assumes no liability for items that are damaged during flight. Pilots should be notified of your fragile items. Also, please be aware that items may shift in flight.
