Fare Policies

Our goal is to provide exceptional value to our communities. We try to accomplish this by providing a variety of fares to fit your budget or schedule. The chart below is intended to help you understand the fare options available to you.

  • Guests missing a flight may fly stand-by on the next available flight over the same route at no additional charge.
  • While Backcountry does not have partnerships with other airlines, guests affected by major-airline flight delays should contact our reservation team at 206-558-2500. We will do our best to accommodate you on the next available flight.

Refunds

Generally, non-refundable fares are not refundable, and any unused value can be used for up to one year from the date of issue. In certain circumstances, non-refundable tickets can be refunded at the discretion of our agents. This can include extended delays (greater than two hours) or cancelations. If you were affected by an extended delay or cancelation (and you were not already contacted by our customer service team) please contact us at 206-558-2500, or email us at info@flydashair.com

Weather and Flight Considerations

Your flight may be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather or mechanical issues. We will do our best to inform you of weather cancellations or delays as soon as possible so that you may consider your travel options. Safety of operation is Backcountry’s top priority, and all flights are conducted weather-permitting. Low visibility and high wind conditions are examples of poor weather conditions experienced in the Pacific Northwest that could affect flight operations. Your safety and the safety of our crew is paramount. To that end, each flight is conducted with strict adherence to weather regulations and regulatory policy. Our pilot has absolute and final authority over the flights departure. Neither Backcountry, nor its representatives assume any responsibility for any loss or liability resulting from cancellations due to weather, mechanical issues or regulatory constraints, scheduling conflicts or any other circumstance.

Children

In accordance with FAA Regulations, children under 2 years of age may sit on the lap of a parent with no charge. You will be asked to provide proof of age. Children over 2 years of age will be charged a full seat fare which also allows for up to 40 pounds of baggage. We do not offer any discounted seat fares for minors. We can accommodate some smaller infant car seats in our baggage area, as part of the parents baggage allowance. Larger car seats that do not fit safely on our aircraft seats will be accommodated as baggage whenever possible, and subject to our baggage policy.

Weight and Balance

We fly weight limited aircraft and for flight safety, it is vital that we have accurate passenger and baggage weights. While we do not share this information, you will be asked your weight at the time of booking and may be asked to weigh-in before boarding. Passengers in excess of 275 pounds may be subject to additional fees and may be adjusted to another flight if needed for the safety of maintaining the weight and balance of our aircraft.

Pets

Cats and dogs are welcome aboard Backcountry flights. For the comfort and safety of our passengers, we maintain a limit of one pet per flight.

  • The pet must be harmless, inoffensive, odorless, require no attention inflight, and remain in one location for the duration of the flight.
  • Advance bookings are required for all pets, regardless of size or weight, and fees may apply, according to the table below. Arriving for your flight without advance bookings for your pet may result in unanticipated fees or denial of boarding. Your pet will be listed on your emailed itinerary. You can reserve space for your pet when booking your flight, or to add a pet to your booking, please contact our Customer Service group at 206-558-2500

  • All cats must travel in a small, soft sided, duffel-bag style carrier.
  • Most dog kennels will not fit onboard the aircraft of scheduled service flights, however, charter service may be an option. Please contact our Charter group at 206-558-2500 to discuss options.
  • Unaccompanied pet transport services are not available.

Baggage and Restricted Materials

Follow the 1+1+1 Rule:

Each ticketed guest will have the following baggage allowance:

  • 1 Checked bag not to exceed 50 lbs. or 62 linear inches (length + width + height = 62”)
  • 1 Gate-Checked bag sufficiently small and lightweight not to exceed 45 linear inches (length + width + height = 45”)
  • 1 Personal Item (e.g. small purse, briefcase, electronic device) not to exceed 36 linear inches (length + width + height = 36”)

The aircraft does not contain storage space under the seat or overhead in which to safely stow in-cabin items. Accordingly, most Personal Items must be carried to the aircraft by the Guest and stowed by a Backcountry agent into the designated baggage compartments prior to boarding. For additional baggage related details including liability limits, prohibited items, and accessibility requirements please refer to the Backcountry contract of carriage.

Since Backcountry does not have agreements with other airlines, luggage cannot be transferred to other airlines.

Due to limited baggage capacity, we strongly encourage passengers to limit themselves to the baggage allowances specified above.

Baggage Fees – Due to the smaller aircraft size and limited space, we will strictly enforce these policies. The below charges apply each way and are cumulative.

Disablities and Accomodations

Backcountry, does not discriminate of the basis of disability. We strive to offer our services to everyone but safety is always our chief priority. There are regulations and inherent challenges associated with enplaning and deplaning our aircraft, requiring passengers to be physically able to do so with minimal assistance. However, we try to accommodate all guests within reason. While we are exempt from accessibility requirements, if you have a disability which requires assistance, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate you and in the event we are unable, we will contact you with an explanation. Your service dog is free of charge if certification is provided when booking your flight.

Unfit Passengers

At the discretion of a Backcountry Representative or our Pilot, impaired passengers may be denied boarding. This includes passengers who are, or appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, are determined unable to perform in-flight emergency procedures such as opening the door and exiting the aircraft, and/or those who exhibit behavior deemed alarming or a threat to the safety of the flight. Note: Marijuana, although legal in Washington State, is Federally illegal. Backcountry Aviation, is subject to Federal regulations and thus it is not permitted on our flights.

Liability

Backcountry Aviation, assumes no liability for overweight baggage that is left behind at any location from which your flight originates. Luggage is stored at the passengers own risk. Although not guaranteed, Point to Point Air will make every attempt to deliver your baggage at a later time. Backcountry Aviation, assumes no liability for items that are damaged during flight. Pilots should be notified of your fragile items. Also, please be aware that items may shift in flight.
